This area will help to understand the variety of items we sell in more detail. Generally, an estate sale will contain the personal property of an individual(s) or business. The reason for a sale can range from downsizing a home (or business), moving out of state, or the death of a family member. The estate sale will have all the household items priced including our specialty categories. Many of our clients will state “we have a lot of valuable things over 100 years old!” Age of an item has only a minor fit into the equation of its value. There are five factors that will equate to an item’s value: 1. Condition 2. Scarcity 3. Demand and Market Trends 4. Provenance, and most importantly, 5. Marketing Skill. The matching of an interested buyer to an item is how one will realize value. Without a buyer, value is only a theory.
